Positive: The location was perfect for us. A walk over the bridge to the famous church, a playground on the water front, restaurants and four square. Such an amazing location. Some massive renovations really is needed and would be so beautiful if someone decided to do that. Even the smallest of things could really make the place nicer :)
Negative: Trust the reviews. Unfortunately the location is overpriced for accommodation. We paid $275 for 2bed. I figured we would get a decent room for that. However I am grateful that we weren’t spending much time in there. All of the facilities are old. There is no living space as such. Just a table and chairs next to kitchen bench. The doors to the main bedroom didn’t even close. Mix matched bi-fold doors. Old beds. The shower head is non adjustable and sprays everywhere. The photos definitely made the place appear nicer. Be realistic. It is 3 stars. You just need to pay top dollar for better. However it was ok for us, and if you are not too picky. We left early so didn’t get the breakfast in time. Reception lady was nice. It was ok but would not stay for more the one night.
Summary: Location perfect.it is a 3 star motel so be prepared.

Positive: Less than one minute walk to all the restaurants and bars but no noise from them. Good off street parking. Partial views of Lake Tekapo adequate from ground floor unit but these look directly at the cars parked. Room fine for overnight stay. Not so good for skiers who need to dry out skiclothes and ski boots. No where to store skis or boards so have to keep them in the car.
Negative: Some maintenance needed in the bathroom with unfinished plastering on the skirtings. Possible plumbing issues as the drainage from the sink and the shower very slow. Cold tiles to stand on in the bathroom. No seating so had to sit on the single bed. The unit comes with a complimentary breakfast at the business next door where there is espresso coffee on offer ( need to pay for this). The coffee is of poor quality as the person does not know how to use the machine correctly.
Summary: Cosy convenient motel room for an overnight stay, great for travellers.
